Eco Trialog Dublin

6. März 2015

The ecoTrialog #19 takes us to the Emerald Isle - Ireland. Is the green landscape responsible for the many large data centers based in Ireland?

To find out, we invite you to join us from Wednesday, 4 March to Friday, 6 March 2015 to network with especially selected Irish IT companies.

We have again put together an informative, interesting and varied program for you.

Our shuttle bus sets off on the Irish DC Experts-Tour on Wednesday, 4 March at 1:00 pm, after individual arrivals at Dublin Airport.

Enterprise Ireland will introduce Irish companies from the data center industry. According to a recent study by the World Bank, Ireland counts as one of the 10 friendliest business environments in the world, and is a leader in innovative sectors like Information and Communication Technology (ICT), medical technology and the financial and pharmaceutical sectors.

In the evening, after an initial chance to get to know each other, we invite you to a traditional Irish dinner.

On Thursday, 5 March we will explore Dublin Bay in our shuttle bus. Our first stop will be the company CommScope, in Bray.

Experience with us the manufacturing of copper and fiber-optic cables in a state-of-the-art production plant. Experts in the CommScope Labs will demonstrate for us the latest trends and solutions regarding 10/40/100G-technologies.

From intelligent networks to modular data center containers, the laboratory and showroom offer us a variety of objects of interest.

The subsequent Dublin City-Tour takes us to the Guinness Storehouse. Covering seven floors, we will take a walk through the world’s largest pint glass, and enjoy a breathtaking view of Dublin and the Wicklow Mountains in the Gravity Bar.

For the Networking Dinner following this, we will again have the opportunity to strengthen newly-made contacts.

On Friday, 6 March we will be guests in the recently opened Digital Realty data center.
Digital Realty supports more than 600 companies from a wide variety of sectors with their DC and colocation strategies, by means of a densely networked and secure portfolio of data centers in the USA, Europe, Asia and Australia.

Digital Realty‘s newest Profile Park Data Center is Ireland‘s first Tier III DC with a PUE of 1.15.

Only 20 minutes from the Dublin city center, this colo-data center offers 8,000 square meters of white space with a 10 MVA power supply. The cooling concept is based on adiabatic air-to-air heat exchange, without conventional mechanical cooling.

Following this tour, the shuttle-bus will take us back to the airport (approx. 2:00 pm).
